Bryce woke up this morning singing the words of this famous Dr Seuss poem,

“You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You’re on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the one who’ll decide where to go…”

And that’s the thing about 3 months ago we made the choice to leave again. I can’t believe the day has finally come for us to pack up our bags and step on the plane. It has been the craziest last 3 months trying to tie everything up and do courses again. Bryce has managed to do his Dive Masters, AEC Engineering course, STCW, RYA Powerboat course and everything else in between. I have bought a house, refreshed my courses and passed a VERY tough wine exam 🙂 So, to say the preparation has been done, might be an understatement.

The only thing left to do now is step on the plane.

It’s a great feeling to know that I am leaving behind the most beautiful group of friends and family, a support base that is rivalled by no other. I am one lucky girl. And while I get to travel with my incredibly loveable partner, I also eventually get to go home to an amazing group of people. Which makes both the leaving and the coming home equally exciting.

But now, it is time for an adventure, Yes, again. But one with a difference. One which is driven by more of a plan, with some clear goals and, this time, a timeline. Both of us have things we would like to achieve by the time we get home. And more importantly than that, both of us have a large bucket list to tick off by the time we get back.

The only “plan” for now is to land in Nice tomorrow. One of my favourite European cities. A place that holds some beautiful memories and a place that I cannot wait to share with Bryce. His energy and sense of adventure are going to open the streets up to me and make me see things with a different set of eyes. I cannot wait. Cannot wait for some European soul, some European pace and even more importantly European sun.

So long Cape Town, look after my loved ones and let that Mountain stand tall and the Oceans runs deep, you’re the best city I know. For now, I am holding the hand of the man I kissed one starry night exactly a year ago and travelling the world.

And so, with all of the above being said, we wish to fill the pages of this blog with our adventures. We want you to be entertained and inspired, we would like you to laugh with us, cringe with us and travel the world with us.
